Project name:
L U X O swaft | Product Duration: January to March 2017 at Division of Industrial Design (DID) Overview: Design a micro 4/3rd camera to induce new interactions between the user & the camera? Role: Rapid Ideation, Rapid Prototypes, Conceptualisation, Design for Production |
Overview
The challenge was to design a micro 4/3rd camera to induce new interactions between the user and the camera. LUXOswaft is primarily conceived for users, who needs to capture moment swiftly. The most essential form defining factors are the grip and shutter key that form new interactions between the user and the camera.

Design Process
With the intention to break the conventional shape of existing camera, LUXOswaft consist of apparent parts - the body and the handle. After several rounds of iterations, an ergonomic handle for users is attained. Further optimization of general body shape that celebrates the handle while achieving a well balance between the lens and body.

Interactions
The placement of the internal components in LUXOswaft are taken into considerations, thus essentially influencing the usual interactions we have with a conventional camera.
