Background
Valeo Powertrain Systems develops and produces innovative powertrain solutions to improve today's engines and design the electric mobility of tomorrow.
Overview
The project was to propose experiences or services of future mobility with the use of data generated by the powertrain systems. With the understanding of Valeo Powertrain Systems, we are tasked to imagine the future possibilities by painting the future of electric mobility in the next 5 to 15 years.

Our group spent the first few sessions bouncing ideas and exploring areas of opportunities in electric mobility.

The classification session leads us to our possible design directions: How can Valeo's Powertrain System...?
After the constant classification of different opportunities in groups, our group decided to map out a scenario. We also mapped out the user emotion map to understand the pain points the driver will face in the situation when his/her breaks down.

With the understanding of driver's journey and emotions in face of car problems, our team proposed 4 different service design concepts with the use of data from the powertrain systems.

Idea: NearBy Me 1.0
NearBy Me empowers drivers by communicating the essential information gained from the car's powertrain systems data. It provides an interactive network for drivers with Car Help, Find Nearby and Car Health modes. These features are designed to seamlessly communicate with nearby services that are required by the car and to maintain the car's health by educating the driver the knowledge of their own car.

Car Health Mode
Car Health Mode is designed to maintain the condition of the car and its different components. Also it connects the user with technical issues of the car, which helps to ensure proper maintenance and original parts required by the car. This mode also educates the user in terms of technical that helps them to better understand their car. |

Our team designed the Nearby Me service that can be rolled out in 3 different time phases - 5, 10, 15 years.

Conclusion
Our team presented our concept idea and a soft launch of Nearby Me App prototype with the staff at Valeo office in France. The concept was very well received by them as the interactive network car system covers topics such as Environment, Energy, Connectivity and Commerce. We do hope to see some key features in Valeo's future automobile projects. *excites*

In 2019, I decided to re-design the app interface after re-looking at my project. The NearBy Me 2.0 interface reflects better on the brand identity of Valeo. The NearBy Me 2.0 is designed to enhance the usability experience through decluttering and showing of concise information to users.
Our team presented our concept idea and a soft launch of Nearby Me App prototype with the staff at Valeo office in France.
